Unlike many other pubs in this area we do not rely on the microwave to deliver a pre-packaged meal. The team of chefs at the Ship prepare all the meals from fresh ingredients, locally sourced. This includes fresh meats, fresh vegetables, salads etc. Given our pricing policy this means not only quality food but also very competitive pricing. For instance:

A 'savour' menu at £3.99.
A menu featuring most main courses below £7
Children’s menu at £3 (including free soft drink)
A proper sunday lunch with dessert for only £6.99
Gourmet burgers and ribs
Steak nights with drink offer
Our curry nights with drink offer (and our curries are hard to beat)

We also provide a daily changing 2/3 course menu either £8.99 or £9.99 (hard to beat!!)

We offer our customers a private function room for business or any occasion. Why not let us cater your function or provide our bar at your venue.

Smuggler's Inn (Stormcrow)

Stormcrow are a local folk duo to the area, this song was written about the original Ship Inn at Marske:

This was one of the favourite stories that I heard from Jack Anderson, a well known local character.

The old Ship Inn was situated near the Cliff House in Marske and has become three separate cottages. In the 1830's it was not only a thriving pub but also a centre for Smuggling. The landlord, Thomas King, was connected to Black Andrew at Saltburn's Ship Inn. Allegedly the story of the song was based in truth and the pub ceased trading a year or two later.
